My Rockin' Front Door

Valentine Victorian Gold beads

I finally got the beads shot, in the dark, dreary, wet porch…the lighting isn’t the best, but you get the idea…I posted them on Etsy so it could handle the shopping cart, believe me I don’t make more money using Etsy, I only use it as a convenience because otherwise I need to babysit my computer [...]

Beads are here…

Hey wow,  guess what!?! I actually made some groovy Valentine beads the other night… I was out of the house most of the day yesterday, so when I got home I was able to clean and string them, but its been so dark and rainy that pics are hard to get…its still bad out there today, but I’ll see what I can do…I want to post these, I think you’re gonna like them…A few strands that would make a happy Valentine bracelet for ya…

We had a successful visit to the local humane shelter, visited with the volunteers, saw the cats and dogs, and made an appt to take the porch cats over tomorrow…Now, before everyone gets up in a tizzy, we did our homework before just dumping these cats…in fact, we aren’t dumping them at all…We met with the director who approved the adoption, we are also taking a big bag of cat food with us, and paying the surrendering fee…We are also volunteering to assist in whatever they need from us – Brian does computer-related work and has assisted the Austin Humane society previously…The one thing we really liked about this group was that they take the animals to Adoption Days at PetSmart and in the month of January have successfully adopted 36 cats…I think I counted only 7 cats in the facility, so that tells me they are turning the cats around, they aren’t languishing in cages for ages…They didn’t have many dogs either, but I don’t know how many they are placing.  They don’t euthanize here, that is done in the county when animal control picks up the animals, so we know not to call them unless there’s a rabid animal that needs picking up…(and yes, there are raccoons, possums, skunks and all sorts of wildlife in town, believe it or not)….
