The disks have a unique pattern on each side...

These are not large earrings, they are light and easy to wear... the disks dangle and move for fun...
I have 4 pair of silver and 4 of the patina...Each silver pair looks pretty much like this pair, the earwires vary slightly, some curve in the back, others are just C shapes like shown...(the patina pair show the curved ones)...
20g fine silver wire was used for the earwires, hopefully they won't cause any allergies, since there is no nickel, zinc, copper or any other alloy in them...

Two Disk Patterned Earrings...$35

Notice how the patina is different colors on each piece - its the nature of the metal and gives each piece a unique look...If you are looking for exact matches, these are not the earrings for you..but if you like earthy, antique, old world looks, these give you that feel...Same patterns on each disk as shown above...
Two Disk Patterned Earrings in a Patina finish...$40

Geometric Link Bracelet...$120
Fun, funky, different...the links are a soft old-gold color with rivets on each piece that reflect like little mirrors...Everything on this bracelet is handmade from the links to the jumprings to the clasp..
Only one available .
Size 6 3/4"

Some comparison shots so you can see about how big the pieces are...

Round Link Chain Bracelet...$120
Each link is interlocked with its neighbor...The patina went a little darker gold on this one w/ lots of rose bits and the clasp is from my class projects (which I rarely sell, mind you) and has a green patina on it...toggle is handmade as well from PMC and jumprings are fine silver too...This reminds me of the old gold rings they find on Spanish ships that sank off Florida's coast from the 1600's...
only one available
measures 7"

Comparison photos so you can see the size of the piece on your wrist...notice my very attractive scar on my wrist too...cats don't like to take baths...

Here's the entire group of everything I did in the four day class...I like to make stuff, so I was assembling earrings and pendants and mostly making components for use down the road...I'm really happy with the results, doesn't it look like something you might have dug up in your back yard?
I love finger rings, so the first day I set out to make PMC rings for my finger...Notice the open holes have squished down to slits after pounding the rings into a size to fit my finger (after firing they shrink down, so you have to hammer them up again)...did not plan on squished holes, but if I wasn't so lazy, I could reheat the ring and open them up again...still, I like the result...
A small sampling of the group, notice the chain at the bottom...a very quick and easy loop in loop chain that is ancient...I had the square PMC piece and hammered a toggle (not very fancy, will prob work on that later) and patina'd it...turned out fairly rosy-gold...really nice...I like the smattering of earrings I put together too...I was having fun, that's for sure... |
More components that I'll use later...all three of these pieces were dipped in the patina for the SAME AMOUNT OF TIME, and yet, look at the color differentiations...so totally groovy...I've run these thru the tumbler for an add'l 15 min after putting the patina on, just to give them a soft gleam...
These guys were in the same patina session as the three rings above...and yet, for whatever reason, they came out all blue and green w/ some pink-red...I wasn't trying to make matching earrings, so one square has a hole in the bottom while the other has a stud...I should hammer these flat to look like rivets, but I haven't pulled my tools out yet...What's nice about these components is that I can change the look and add whatever disc/dangle I feel like... |
Here's a shot that includes KATE'S bracelet on the right..Just so you can see how it's supposed to be done...her work is just fantastic, there were so many pieces I wanted, coveted, petted and rolled around in my hands...I couldn't take them all home, so I found one that I thought would make a presence...She has a few more of these, if you're looking for a groovy present to yourself...or go take the class and peek behind the curtain to see how its done...I would just sit and watch her work, her hands just instinctively know what to do...it was fascinating... |

One of the cool things about the patina process is that its so unexpected...Kate was getting fantastic old-gold soft colors on her pieces, and I was doing what I do - leaving the pieces in the sulphur too long, and just being heavy-handed as I tend to be...I didn't expect the rainbow of colors to occur in these disks, and they looked kinda dark and black before I tumbled them... |
These are beadcaps that I dapped after firing...they are made flat and then you just pound them to round them...brillianz! |
One of the things I discovered was that if I made components with holes that were larger than I intended, i could make the earwires with larger bead-balls on the ends, so the disc wouldn't slip off...its all just so versatile, and I love that...I am not a planner, I like to just sit down and see what happens..let things fall where they may...the patina doesn't match on these, but that's ok, you can't predict it...I'm ok with that...these make sweet little earrings... |
And I dunno why, but I just wanted a closeup of these colors...I think I'm enamored with them...course, the closeup shows all the bad things magnified, but do I care? |

Speaking of heavy-handed patina, here's a pic of the first bracelet I made..its with PMC links and fused silver wire, with a PMC round clasp and toggle...I left it in the patina for a while, it was gorgeous, then I wire brushed some of the color OFF, and then went BACK IN to the patina and well, now its virtually black...one of the weird things about patina is - even if you lighten the silver and re-patina, it seems to remember the color it was, and will return to that color again...so I probaly cannot get blues/greens/pinks in this piece...but I'll probably lighten it with a brush or polisher since it is pretty dark... |
