Who's going to B&B?
The Bead and Button show in Milwaukee begins next week (May 20-23)...I finally feel like I'm at a place where I could get a booth and not embarress myself, but it won't be this year...I'm going to try and shoot for next year...which means I need to make enough stuff for a 4-day national show..Oh, and some folks think I need to be doing Tucson as well..(and I have considered it)...could I handle 2 major shows in one year? i know others who do those shows AND ISGB and Lapidary Journal plus other small shows..I just don't have that kind of stock..pretty much everything I make, I offer to ya'll via eBay or Pickings...I like that 'instant gratification' feeling I get from it...So, my question is - have you attended either B&B or Tucson, what were your experiences and is it something you think I'd enjoy??? rock on little sistas...

that would be "Brian the Fair and Easily Sunburned"

Oohhh, the infamous Brian!
Hay, I love his hat! Chez Texas!
How does an easily sunburned guy manage in that blazing sun?
I read your chat for the day and I was thinking about something you said......you're "just now" at the point where you feel you could have a booth without embarrassing yourself? I say you've been at that point for a long time! If I ever found out you were going to be at one of the giant bead shows, I might be tempted to hop a plane & spend my first year's salary as a nurse at your booth alone!

oooh! B&B rocks on! I live 4 hrs from it and SIL lives 1/2 hr..so I got bed & Breakfast & babysitter. It is awesome! I wonder how much inventory one must have?? Offer to share a table w/someone...saves $$ and you don't have to have so much inventory!
It was my first (and only) ever bead show to attend...I smiled goofily for 5 straight hours. I was 3 months into lampworking...this year I am going with more educated eyes. CAN'T WAIT!

Donna, you would definetely do well at B&B. I have attended for the last 3 years. It is great. I won't be able to go this year and am disappointed. I will be there next year. Hope you are too.

I agree with Gail. I've gone the past two years -- and unfortunately am not going this year -- but think you would do wonderfully! It's an enthusiastic group of beaders -- from beginner to expert, so I think you would have fun! And, your work would show well.
Tucson is a different experience. I've gone a number of times -- it's a blur -- which says something about Tucson. There's several different bead shows in Tucson -- where the lampworkers show. And, each one is different. There's one I wouldn't recommend -- just because I think the lighting is extremely poor in the event. There's two others that would be equally good, but I'll have to look up the names.

I'm going to the B&B!! I only live 30 minutes from Milwaukee!! I can't wait; it'll be my first show ever (extreme newbie torching since April). I'm expecting to be overwhelmed but I'm hoping to learn alot!

I agree that you'd do great at B&B, Donna! I went last year for my first time and am counting the hours until it's time to go this week! I live about 5 hours away-long drive but, worth it! We take walkie talkies so that our group can split up but, make a mad rush to find the chick that's happened upon something glorious! I was absolutely floored by it last year. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven! I haven't been to Tuscon though.
