Are you looking for beads?

quick note: i've updated my Class schedule with new Fall dates and changed the info a bit...if you're interested in coming to Austin this fall, check out the page...

I bet you are...but alas, I have not made any sets of beads lately. I've been on a pendant kick, but all that will change today - the kiln is firing up right now (its 9:20am) and I plan to just sit and make BEADS today...some will be for orders, some for Pickings, who knows what will fall from the rod and into the kiln...

The opening of the catalog yesterday brought a lot of unexpected response - most everyone emailed me instead of ordered through the catalog, and most everyone is asking for stuff not found in the catalog - like beads from the banners, beads that have been removed from the catalog, beads from the Gallery...I hadn't planned on making beads from those 3 areas, I was shooting for beads from the *catalog*....but I'll get back to you as to whether or not I can fill your requests...i did not expect all the interest in those beads, it certainly surprised me!!!

We are seeing a 'sneak preview' of Harry Potter tomorrow at midnight..the theatre is planning on having a giant chess set in the parking lot, people are going in costume and its going to run from 7:30pm to 3:00am...I don't think i'm going in costume, though - I don't really have one to wear, and wearing a cape in 100 degree weather is not the best way to spend the evening...the movie looks really dark and groovy...can't wait!!

Some of your nicest beads are in your banners and in the gallery! Maybe you'd like one of us to design your catalog for you?! At least your customers are telling you what we want! Better than not knowing...

Hey Donna, we love all your beads! I haven't gotten my act together to place an order YET. I wanted to share that the pictures of the beads in the banners are closer and that may spark interest in those since we can see all the detail and artistry even better. I must confess that sometimes I wish the ones shown on banners were also in the catalog, too. It's your catalog and you make the beads so do whatever you want.

yes, its always good to know what my customers want, and I wasn't complaining about the emails, they were just unexpected.

Just as a note for ya'll who might wonder - the reason most of the banners are not in the catalog is because they were originally eBay sets...and I have a policy of not remaking eBay sets for customers for at least 3-6 months after the set sells. They are also examples of the type of work I'm currently doing, whereas some of the beadsets in my catalog are older and I want you to see that I have improved my skills/ability.

There are reasons as to why I do what I do...even if ya'll aren't always aware of why...but if you email me and ask I do try to provide my reasoning. You may agree with it or not, that's your right. And I might 'adjust my thinking' down the road, who knows..I have to start somewhere, though.

I'm trying to balance my catalog, eBay, Pickings and playing at the torch as well as doing any errands/chores (you don't want to see my house and the cathair, trust me)...I'm just trying to do everything that I can. Is there something ya'll think I should drop? Feedback is welcome, as always...

I say drop the housework, not the beads.....LOL

My comment earlier isn't meant to imply that I don't like the beads in your catalog, not at all...but as you've said, the banner beads are your newer beads, which reflect improved techniques, etc. I'm assuming that your new skills/ability are reflected in the newer versions of your catalog beads as well! Maybe as you place orders for some of your catalog sets, you could update some of your older pictures in the catalog? You know I love your beads...and especially some of the styles like the Victorian sets...and it's been awhile since you've done those sorts of beads on EBay too!!!
