Who likes scavenger hunts?

Whew! Looks like everything has quieted down, if you're still looking for all 5, go right ahead, but I WILL be posting the answers a bit later, so everyone knows where they were all hiding...

I think this turned out fun, I know some of ya'll were frustrated, and that wasn't my intention, of course...I hope next time out it'll be easier for ya...I DO plan on doing this again, although not right away...maybe I'll make it a monthly kind of event, where you will be alerted far enough in advance to plan some time in the day to go hunting...and maybe you'll hunt for something else, but beads will be the 'prize' (like an Easter egg hunt, only you win beads instead of eggs)...

I don't want ya'll to get bored when you visit, so I'm trying to mix things up a bit, keep it fresh and fun...I'd love to do a trivia contest, but with Google you can find the answers so easy...my friends and I would enter weekly trivia challenges here in Austin and we'd kick the other teams in the rear. We won shirts, trophies, beer and just had a blast...I love 'worthless' trivia...Here's one for ya - Who was the first guest on David Letterman back in 1982? I know this answer - how useless is that??

Ok, we do have a winner in the 'Found all 5' contest...but there are a few of you very close, so keep going! i might find a few more prizes to distribute to ya'll who are now bald from pulling your hair out...

I've added PayPal buttons on the pages who's sets are still available...there are a couple of sets that I'll remake a few of, so if the button is gone - the set is not one I'll be remaking...

Keep going, hope you're having fun regardless...or go get a lemonade and relax...I need to give some intravenus lemonade to Rachel right now...poor kid...

NOTE: Please tell me if you WANT the set or not when you email me - if you don't specify, then I'm going to assume you're just looking for all 5 sets, and I'm not going to mark it sold...so far only 2 sets are sold - the Psychodelia and Wild Wild West..everything else is still up for grabs...good luck!

To be fair, I posted a pic of the sets up for grabs, that way you know if you even want to begin the hunt...The site is ready, the sets are buried somewhere on the site - one clue I will give you - I've not put anything on the Gallery page - I thought that would be too tedious to go through all the pics on there, and this is supposed to be FUN not a drag...

Each set has its own page w/ an email link on it, a small write up on about the set and the price. If you find a set but don't want it, but just want to email and tell me you found it, that is perfectly fine...Sometimes the hunt is more fun than the prize...If you find all 5, email and tell me where they are and the first person to do that will get a prize too..hey, why not?

Get Ready...Get Set...Go!

I am ready to go sooner than I thought I would be- I can post this around 1:00pm CST if ya'll are ready too...I think this will take awhile, so I don't think it will pose a problem for anyone who waits until 2:00 to come back...

ok, see you are 1:00 - about 15 min or so...
I thought I'd do something a bit different to break up the bead-frenzy that happens when I post Pickings...so many folks miss out and get disappointed so I thought "what if I hide them all over my site?"...so that's what I'm going to do...There will be 5 sets of beads hidden all over my site today...you will have to click on links or pics to find them, they won't be so obvious as just sitting out in plain sight...If you find a set, email me the name of the set and whether or not you're interested in buying it. The Name and Price will be included in the picture, and I'll need to know the name of the set, so don't forget to include that in your email...
Now, when will this take place? Well, I still have to clean/shoot everything, as well as hide them...its 10:08am right now, so I figure to have this going around 2:00pm this afternoon (CST)...I can keep you updated as to how many sets are still available, when everything has been found, etc. Remember if you find a set and you don't want it, you don't have to email and tell me - maybe the next person will find and want it...no problem! I'll have more details once I get everything 'planted', so check back in awhile. Please - no phone calls or emails asking me for more info, I'm heading to the cleaning station to get this underway and won't be able to catch the phone...

go eat breakfast and enjoy your morning...!

Phew! I give up.
I have found every set except the one I wanted to find! You hid this one really well!
In any event, it's raising my blood pressure and flipping me out so I'm just going to end the torment now. I take my RN nursing state board exam tomorrow morning and this scavenger hunt, while fun, is not conducive to the peaceful, serene mental state I'm shooting for today....heee........ ;O)

You're doing better than me! I've only found three--I give up!
Love the sets though! Wish I could find the amber set... Whoever finds them deserves them!
:)

We have an RN Down...I repeat, an RN is down...

LOL...
Get me a strand of blackberrybeads, STAT!

P.S. I'm not 'officially' an RN *yet*...I take the dreaded monstrosity of an exam for licensure tomorrow (the mother of all exams) and I should know by Wednesday night if I passed or if I will be crawling under a rock to hide from humiliation.........

Wow, that was great Donna! I didn't realize you wanted us to email you as we found them, but that's OK...the fun was in the finding them! Ya gotta do that again!!

Posted by: Laurie M. at August 8, 2004 02:34 PM

I only found 2. I must have looked for 1 1/2 hours. I give up.

YAY! Found all 5 and even managed to buy ONE :-) For those having trouble - make sure you look EVERYWHERE! Especially on links to other pages ... they may not bring you to what you think they will! Have fun!

Well, i can get ya'll started - there is a link on my homepage that will take you to a set of beads...click each link (there are a lot, so don't just look at the menu on the left column)and see if you can find it...and then keep going...!

Hi Amy!!
Thank you so much for your well wishes! I am going to be sooo happy when this is over. UGH. Every classmate of mine who has taken it so far have all said the same thing...that I should expect to walk out of the testing center tomorrow in a mad panic, not knowing how I did, convinced that I failed, then spending 48 sleepless hours waiting for the results to be posted. I guess everyone feels the same way...I have never met anyone who walked away from taking the NCLEX feeling any sense of confidence.
In school, the answers on our exams could be reasoned out using the ABC's (airway, breathing, circulation, bleeding, pain and on up Maslow's heirachy--you know the deal).....BUT I guess the NCLEX questions are a lot trickier. I took a review class and I have been doing review question CD's...I also did the NCSBN website RN-NCLEX test prep because everyone said it was the *most* like the actual NCLEX. All I can do is my best. The good thing is that if I don't pass the first time, I can retake it. It's just luck of the draw...whatever questions the computer throws at you...and like I said to Donna, I am REALLY REALLY hoping I won't see a lot of maternity or pediatric questions!!!!!
OK enough rambling. I'm a little nerved up tonight and I tend to ramble when I'm anxious.
Thanks again for your well wishes...
Rachel
PS What type of nursing are you in?

Posted by: RachelG at August 8, 2004 07:35 PM

Hi Rachel

I was in cardiac intensive care for 18 years and then 3 years ago I changed to outpatient surgery. My old buddies think I am in the country club now. I also am really fascinated with the cardiac cath lab and have other buddies in that area. I have been helping out on extra days there. I think they are trying to lasso me in!!
Anyway good luck, I am sure you'll do fine! In my day we had to wait weeks for snail mail for our results!

I know the answer to the Letterman question. He's one of my favorite people. I also know how many dimples are on a golf ball. Of course I don't remember what I did ten minutes ago or why I walked into a room. Priorities.

Donna,
This was awesome! You gotta do this again!
