La la la...no more mack truck..

A few little beadbox sets, I have the urge to get back to the small beads again, so be on the lookout for new stuff coming up in the next few days and weeks...maybe I have Spring fever and I just needed some sunshine to kick it into gear...??

I watched American Idol last night (Paula was surely drunk - can't someone clean her up or kick her off the show? she's a complete waste), watched an old movie, "My Cousin Rachel" with Richard Burton and Olivia de Haviland, and went to bed...boy do I feel better than yesterday...and hopefully it'll be quieter than the past two days too...I like my space quiet and uneventful, with ME being the only person who I have to talk to and the cats the only ones messing stuff up...and today looks like one of those days...hurray for me...

This summer is shaping up to be busy, with classes that I'm giving and taking, Bead and Button in June and the Gathering in July...If you're going to either, I'd be happy to meet up with you if at all possible...these are my first visits to either venue so I'll be scoping out what there is to do, and trying to just have a good time and not get overwhelmed at the enormity of it all...I can't believe how beads have grown in popularity - I remember when B&B mag first came out, its tiny little issue..the back cover had a story about a beader who made a collar for her cat and I wanted to do the same, so I started frequenting beadstores for the supplies...and that collar has never been made to this day...I think there's a pattern here...I like to start projects and get sideways on them and travel down another path into another great area...I like to have a lot of projects going on at once, some I finish, others never get done, and that's fine..I get bored with them or my taste changes in mid-project...i have 6 large tackle boxes FULL of Delicas and Seedbeads that may never see the light of day again...who knows?? My rughooking frame hasn't been used in well over a year, I haven't done any stitching in ages and now I've taken up knitting (albeit bad knitting for now)...Are you like that too? Does your interest roll from one thing to another and then you turn around and see the wake of desctruction behind you...thank goodness I've not taken up Scrapbooking (yet) - I LOVE paper, glitter, glue, scissors and all the things about scrapbooking, but I know if I poke my toe in, its all over...

A couple of little strands are coming up...gotta go get the pics...

I do the same type thing, Donna. I seem to have good intentions to do many things, and, well, some/most of them get put by the wayside! Well, I'm hot into lampwork beads and jewelry right now! I hope I don't leave them in the shade because I've got too much invested!

Did you make some beads :), or you're going to the bead box?? Oh, goodie!

Let's see... I started with painting clothes and making cards.... expanded to making dream catchers and jewelry. Clothes painting & dream catchers have gotten set aside (most of the supplies were given away) Making cards has expanded to scrapbooking and I do both when I can dig my way through my craft/computer room. Jewelry is in full swing and I've actually persued that into becoming a home business and now I'm getting into lampworking too! Funny thing is I started all this to keep my hands busy to quit smoking and now I spend more money on beads then I did on cigarettes!

Its always comforting when you find kindred spirits who share the same obsessions! I sew, knit, buy beads, make beads and make jewelry. I used to read mysteries, but who has time? Too many wonderful lampworking and bead magazines out there to look at! Not to mention the bead shows! I guess you could say I have beads on the brain! But I love it and wouldn't have it any other way!

It sounds like I am in good company. Let's see, I've been through sewing and quilting (not enough immediate gratification), tried to teach myself to crochet and knit (maybe I'll try again). Now I have found beads and jewelry - what fun - I love it. I think my husband is really afraid that I will want to try my hand at making beads and I'll expand into his garage. I'm really looking forward to Bead and Button - my first time!!
