The goodies arrived
There are a couple of bracelets available in the Ready for Pickin' page...and one that's just show and tell...but go see anyway!
So now you can see what I ordered from Rio Grande - supplies to make Message Bracelets...this is the first, I just finished it a few minutes ago...I didn't want the letters to be boring, so I had to toss the "Y" in the air...and the clasp, well I need to work on that, but hey, for my first one i'm tickled...what's funny is I've signed up (paid good money) to take a class on how to do this at B&B in June...I'm hoping I'll learn some cool tricks and maybe a list of suppliers for the stamps...I know there are other fonts out there...anybody know where to find them??
I also made a Target run and bought lots of candy, so there'll be treats in your packages again..sorry for the dry spell...mmmm...candy...
I've started my Artist "Weird and Wacky" section...I'll be adding to it as I think of stuff...so it won't be just 'what's on tv' like it is now...
Why does my biggest male kitty want to crush my blackberry bushes when I'm in the patch inspecting them? Argh!

Very groovey indeed! What a cool idea! Not sure where you can buy other fonts, but sometimes the antique swapmeets have old printing fonts from newspapers that have gone out of business, although these might be entire words and not individual letters. But that could be interesting too!

The variety in alphabet stamps is in rubber stamps for scrapbooking and such. I use those for stamping text into PMC instead of plate silver. You can get metal stamps of a flared Western-looking font from someone who sells leather working supplies, though. Otherwise, I've only found plain block fonts or Courier type fonts in steel stamps.

Wow, awesome bracelet ! I am taking a class in May from Jim Smircich at Red Deer College, Alberta... finally someone is coming to Western Canada ! I was wondering what the heck am I gonna do with these loooong vessel beads he likes to do ?? These bracelets would be fantastic with a vessel bead. Okay, are you going to share what you had to buy ?? please ??
What type of class are you taking ?

Hey Donna-
That bracelet is way cool!! That is one style of bracelet I've been wanting to try for months now. I found this website: http://www.leelabeads.com/index.php
but haven't ordered anything yet because I was investing in lampworking tools/glass, not to mention jewelry supplies....but it's on my 'to do' list! I've discussed with one of my buyers the possibility of offering this style of bracelet as a customized special order piece, so people can have whatever they want on it. (within reason, LOL).
You might want to check out the above website because aside from kits she also offers design stamps...I can't wait to play!!!! A kiln is next, though!

thanks Rachel! Yes, I would suggest the link you mention - another of my customers sent me that link as well and it turns out Lisa is who I'll be taking my class from at B&B...! Her kit looks very sweet - i like the thickness of her wire and she has nice tools..I already had some of them from some previous metalsmithing I did (betcha didn't know that!) so it only took a little to fill in the blanks...I bought my stuff from Rio Grande, but if you're looking to just make these bracelets, Lisa's kits would be the way to go...I've got 2 bracelets I'll be offering in a few minutes, and so far today I've made 5 of them...I'll get pics up shortly...this is fun, BUT - TIME CONSUMING..i think I'll prob be leaving this to ya'll so I can make beads...what I've found is that the flat Squeeze or Lozenge or Lentil works nice as a connector cause it lays flat against your wrist...I like the freedom to put whatever I want on the bracelet, tho...very fun!

Would you believe we have a set of those letters (Leela'a) in the house ?? Don wanted me to melt H-D (Harley) into some beads last week. I will ask him where he got them from. They must be something easy to access, "tool" shop ?? (He frequents many, many !)

I love the bracelets you have posted on your pickings page!!! I really like the look of the squeezed lampwork bead in the back. I also like how you colorized some of the words...I haven't seen that before! Nice job--very creative!
