Rise and Shine...

I'm up early-early today...thunderstorms blew threw last night and woke me up, but didn't rain enough to do any good...I did get the elfin thyme and bronze fennel into the ground yesterday, so they'll be happy to have the drink...but the trees will need some deep watering...
I'm thinking today is errand day...my car needs washing terribly...and I'm in the mood to pick up some knitting again, but I can't deal with the hot wool and making scarves is kinda pointless when its 87 outside, so I've got my knitting guru looking for patterns for basic beginners like me (knit and purl is all I do, no increasing or decreasing just yet), and perhaps using cotton or some other fibre other than wool...maybe a cell phone cover??

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that you mentioned cell phone cover. I am currently knitting a (bunny) cell phone cover for a friend's birthday present. There is also a pig version in Stitch n' Bitch Nation (the book I am using). The best part about the pattern is that it is almost all knit. You have to do knit 2 together, a yarn over, and something else that I don't know what it is called, but there are great visuals in the back to help you. I'm not entirely sure my yarn over is being done correctly, but it's looking okay so I figure it can't be too bad. You really should work on increases and decreases, it's fun and really not that hard. My first project was a scarf that was all increase and decrease, and is super cute. My second knit project ever was a monkey hat. You should check out this book sometime. Also www.knittinghelp.com has really good videos that helped to fill in holes of what I couldn't figure out. (I don't think I could have finished the hat without this website.) Anyways, good luck finding a project!
