Howdy Ho Bead Freakazoids!!!
I have returned...Brian stayed up till Midnight when my flight landed...at least I fared better than my buddy Mick, whose luggage didn't make her connection and is stuck in Dallas somewhere...But all my junk is outta the trunk and I'm doing laundry as we speak...I'm a bit bleary eyed, I only got one good night's sleep in 5 nights, but hey, lets not let a little lack of sleep keep things from moving along...
I think I'll put together a new page for a complete wrap up of my trip, like I did last year, so that I don't clog the blog...so I'll start working on that...I have an appt at noon today, but will be back to shoot pics, and reveal stories as I remember them...of course!
I can tell ya'll a few things right now, tho...I stayed true to my intent and spent less than half of what I spent last year...I wasn't in the show floor very much, and I missed some booths cause there were some rows I just never made it to...gah...last year, being my first year there, I went a little nutso...this year, I was much more relaxed...I 'shopped with my eyes' and thought long and hard about if I REALLY needed something...I only bought 3 lampwork beads...3! I did most of my spending on the classrooms instead...but what was cool was about half of my classes had nothing to buy, and in one class, i did a swap with the instructor, so it was like buying stuff on Wheel of Fortune back in the day..."Yeah, I'd like the coat rack for $100...and the microwave for $300...and I guess the ceramic dog"...heh...
This year's show seemed a bit different for me...perhaps cause it was my second year, perhaps cause I know more people 'behind the scenes' and I hear more scuttlebutt now, perhaps cause I was in a more relaxed state of mind, I dunno what it was...I can say that it was a very profitable show for me...I wore bracelets (photos to come) and sold quite a few bracelets from what I made during my BlueMoon studio week (speaking of, my a/c is up and running, so I'm back in business and wanna get beads made ASAP..woo!)...I actually came away from the trip in the black...with a fistful of $20's in my purse...it was awesome!
Alrighty then, I need to get some tools put away, some class kits to gather up (I don't think I finished anything I started, so you get to see the 'guts' of the projects) and some really sweet goodies to photograph...I'll be back later today w/more info to give ya'll...rock on!

Hola Chica,
It was great to catch up with you at B&B!!! I'm impressed that you didn't spend as much...I blew a wad. Loved the beads I bought from you. I was so tired from driving home yesterday that I didn't unpack my gear. Did get the clothes washed. Back to work today...sucks big time!!! Want to be at home beading...and fusing silver...that ROCKS!!

the Mermaid Bracelet comes from Lisa Niven Kelly...its not on her site yet, she's just started teaching it and I'm not sure how long it'll be before she's ready to sell the kit for it, but you could email her and find out...we were only her second class for it, and she did GREAT teaching it, but I imagine she will want to have a few more classes on it before she's ready to offer it publicly..that's what a lot of teachers seem to do...but feel free to email her and ask!
