Headin' up, movin' out...
More pics are posted of the house...
Yep, we are packin' our toys and movin' on down the street...Its time for us to get out of Austin and into the countryside where life is quieter, slower paced and more like what Austin used to be 25 years ago...We've been talking about moving for a long time, and I even asked some of ya'll what you liked and disliked about your own home town...we were considering all sorts of places in the US to relocate to, but after investigating other places, we decided (even with the massive heat) to stay in Texas and just get out of the 'rat race'...So THAT'S why you haven't seen any beads or silver from me in a few weeks - I've been busy packing and purging...but never fear, I haven't purged the 'good' stuff, I'll be selling that once we get unpacked and everything is settled...
Click the ? to see the house and yard...more pics to come as we get things underway...Over the weekend we visited the house, and managed to walk from it, into downtown, to the post office, to city hall, and back again...sure it was 100 outside, but that wasn't the point - its that we can actually DO that...I've lived in the city for over 20 years and it'll be fun to live in a little town again, where things are slow moving...my only hope now is that the city doesn't come out and find us...
I'm off to take care of some loose ends, but I'll be back to finish packing the studio (good lord, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get everything in the new house)...yeehaw...

Congratulations!! It's pretty funny, because I'm in the process of doing the opposite. I've spent 10 years in BEAUTIFUL Bastrop, but Mom and I are getting ready to put her house on the market and move into the Round Rock area instead. I'm moving in with my fiance, and this way she'll be closer to both me and my brother. But it's hard to leave this pine forest paradise....

Congratulations Miss D! (and Brian too!). I LOVE living in the burbs...the peace, tranquility, nature and just being away from the 'rat race' is great. I can't wait to see what you do with the yard, and your new studio too! Are you going to be setting up somewhere in the house until you guys get the garage built? Good luck with everything..I imagine you're going to be busy for a while!

Wow, congratulations and good luck for the move! The house looks just perfect, with all those nice big trees. Please make sure you keep us posted about the magic you will do in this beautiful but still rather empty yard: I'm sure you will transform it into a dog-cat-butterfly paradise, I can't wait to see this happen...!!
Smiles,
Françoise

Congrats on your impending move, there is nothing like living in the country, (I am 35 miles from Manhattan, but I have bears that visit occasionally). I am wondering how you could leave your lovely garden especially after all the work you have put into it. I am sure you will have fun with the new one, it looks like a clean slate!
