Playing with fire...
One of the thngs that I've come to realize about 'play time' at the torch is while it is fun, its also frustrating...Its like driving somewhere unknown, without a map, and getting lost on the way...you might discover a neat little town w/ a great diner and have a wonderful meal, or you might just drive and drive and drive and never get anywhere remotely interesting...I pulled the few beads out of the kiln yesterday, some are ok, others are just 'eh'...but that's what playing is all about...you gotta make some Uglibeads in order to get where you wanna go...I miss Julie's beads, she always had such fun and interesting pieces...

Oh, I miss Julie's beads, too... I miss her and that amazing personality. Maybe after she finishes with school, she'll get back into making her amazing beads.

Darn, I miss Julie's beads, too! Sigh . . . I sure hope she comes back one day.

I happened to pop over to your site tonight and I really appreciated this post. I was just musing that my work seems better when I play than when I plan things out and try to accomplish something. Since you're a seasoned professional in lampwork and your work is so stunning that, for a newbie lampworker, it's nice to hear the reality that everyone struggles from time to time.
