Sunflowers

I have volunteer sunflowers all over the yard, from the birds and squirrels dropping the seeds...they look great and are loaded with big ugly bugs (that I think are beneficial because I imagine something eats them, right? lunch?)...anyway, the heads of the flowers get so big and heavy, they all face the ground...so I found a pic on the web to 'represent' my flowers...heh...you get the idea, tho, right? pretty, yellow, enjoyable...I, myself, enjoyed the large scary bugs (leaf-footed bugs, I believe), but I doubt you would, so i didn't snap any shots of them...I like when a cluster of the same bug all converge on a plant, I can't tell if they were hatched there, they are using the plant as shelter or food, or why they all congregate there...

Lots of rain and scary thunderboomers last night, cats and dog scurrying...I haven't walked the yard to see if there's any damage or fallen limbs...no tornadoes, just wind and rain...we can always use the rain - especially right after I used my submatic!...still, I don't trust the weathermen, typically they are right about 20% of the time and if we get rain, well, all the better...typically they say it'll rain, then it doesn't, and my plants all dry up...I've learned...I've been burned by listening to them too many times...like when i left the top down on the car, and it rained all over my car, even tho the forecast called for no rain...
