The Tour and Shocking developments

Update on the kitty- the vet just left (we have a mobile vet who is awesome) and the kitty seems ok, although covered in fleas and scabs and underweight (6lbs)...she's about 10 yrs old and very friendly and sweet actually...we let her back outside cause it didn't seem she'd used the litter box, and Bagheera chased her down the street, but she did go potty, and now she's back across the street where she's been hanging out...I'm gonna take her some food and water shortly...the vet thinks after the fleas die and she gets some weight on her, she ought to be fine..we'll try to find a home for her then...anyone need a gentle, older cat?

I was just reading yesterday how the US team's director predicted that Ivan Basso would win and Jan Ullrich would prob place second..and this morning, I just read that BOTH have been kicked out of the tour!!!

good lord...there has been a big doping scandal going on for weeks and word has it close to 50 riders are sent packing...wow...I am so disappointed...I thought Basso would win and Jan would give him a good run for his money (Basso just won the 5 week Giro)...I am so bummed out...OLN doesn't have any update on this yet...

Our very nasty neighbors a few houses down from us do not take care of their animals and one of their cats has been living at an empty house for weeks...I thought it was finding food, but apparently not - I picked it up last night and gave it 3 cans of catfood...its now sequiesterd in our study and I'm calling the mobile vet to come look at it's scabs and scrawny body...we don't need another cat, so I hope to find a GOOD home for it...at least one that will give it food and water and a place to sleep properly...I wish these neighbors would leave, their yard is a pig-sty and they always have some kind of drama going on with ambulances, fire engines and cops being called...we live in a nice, older neighborhood, but these people are the worst...in fact, I wouldn't even consider buying the house next door to them because I didn't want to live next to them...boo...

I made some new silver jewelry last night, and put dangles on the 3 dangle rings...so pics to come...its overcast and looks like rain outside...sweet...

Beads be here...

Its summer, and thus, time to hit the beaches, pools, lakes, rivers and streams and splash about...I, myself, will be hiding in my studio and working in water colors instead...and thus, here are some of my first projects in the Oceanic Breeze theme...I hope you find something you can't live without...even if it is a troublemaker bracelet that you know is gonna cause you to do things you'd never do...we all need someone to blame when we go nutzo, why not make it one of the bracelets from this collection....I dares ya...

The Bead Fairy worked hard and brought in loads of beads, although they did take a few deliveries to get here...but here they are...and strung and ready to go...just need to shoot the pics and get 'em posted...watercolors (purple, teal, aqua) and some teeny surprises...

Watching Knitty Gritty and watering the front lawn...its summer in the city here...

Where'd I go yesterday?

Yeah, if you tried to hit my site for an hour or two yesterday afternoon, it wasn't coming up (nor was my email coming in)...that happens from time to time - my domain host accidentally kicks the plug outta the wall and all the servers must go down or something....its nothing I can control on my end, I'm afraid, it has to do where my website is hosted (in Canada of all places, love my Canadian friends)...so sorry about that....

I've removed the whole Stewie/Shatner links from yesterday's post...someone on YouTube took down the Stewie video and it wasn't as fun if you couldn't compare the two...so whatever...

And if you've been wondering where these groovy beads are that I had last week, I'm still working on them...I have more today, but not enough...never enough..so I'll be working on them today and I hope (!) to have a bunch ready to show ya'll tomorrow...

time to water the roses...they're a bit wilty...

How's your summer going?

Are you getting ready for July 4th next week? I'm shocked that its nearly July already, but then ya'll know I'm typically 2 months behind in my feel for the season...it feels like summer should just now be starting, not half over already (back to school stuff will be in Target in just a few weeks in fact)...B&B just flew by, and here we are...in fact, I just read something about starting your Christmas shopping in June...wow! Needless to say, I am not ready to do that myself..ha...

Not much happening here, just doing stuff behind the scenes...mosquitoes have invaded my studio and now i'm being bit..where are those toads??

Who's your farmer now?

A restaurant in NYC that's devoted to Mac and Cheese...yum!
and we all know about the PB&J one in the Village, right? I love NYC!

I feel better...I've posted the silver pieces and hope ya'll like what's there...simple pieces, good for stacking or decorating however you want...I have always wanted to have a nice supply of silver pieces to offer, because I enjoy making them, wearing them and sharing them...especially when they are light weight and you don't even notice you have them on...'pestering' jewelry is no good...

The front and back yards are now mowed...I am a sight to behold, indeed...time to get cleaned up and shoot some pics...my mouth tastes gnarly...ugh...sorry to leave you with that thought...I'll be back once I'm cleaned and prepped...

World Cup...Tour on the way..

I've been pretty much ignoring the World Cup Soccer so far this year..I know its going on, but hey - we just don't watch soccer in the US...but last night there was nothing on tv, so we watched Argentina vs Mexico on Univision (mostly just tuned out the constant drone of the announcers, but we did enjoy their 'GOL!' jubilation), and this morning I watched England beat Ecuador...many years ago I attended a Semi-Finals match in Dallas and it was a lot of fun...people from everywhere in the world were there, and I enjoyed it quite a lot...

I have some very groovy silver pieces to offer today, but it won't be for awhile...time for some lunch and to get some things done..Brian has been working all weekend, the computers are crashing and he's having to rebuild them...gotta love those computers...boo...

Happy, Sleepy, Dopey...

The Numa Numa kid cracks me up...

I am sitting fat and sassy this afternoon...The original Star Trek has been playing on my tv since this morning, and I'm making silver chains and rings...will have something to offer ya'll tomorrow...come back and see me then...boo-yah...

I was one of those dwarves last night..sometimes I'm all three of those dwarves, but after picking up my torch from Jill last night (thanks, you rule!), I started to feel not good and was very sleepy..so at 7:00pm, with the sun out and my neighbors mowing their lawn, I crawled into bed and went to sleep...I needed it...12 hours later, I am somewhat groggy but feel rested...I had chills and felt like I was on fire, but that's all passed now...

I do have some very groovy beads from yesterday, but I need to make more before I can string them up...so lets shoot for something tomorrow, eh?

and I'm sorry to see Aaron Spelling has passed away...not only was he married to Carolyn Jones, my hero Morticia from the Addams Family, I grew up loving his shows- the Mod Squad, Charlie's Angels, Hart to Hart, Starsky and Hutch, and he even produced the movie Mr. Mom which I dearly love...I also think anyone who can build a 56,000 sq ft house has some large stones...I wouldn't want to clean it, but have you heard about the 'wrapping paper' room that is nothing but rolls and rolls of ribbon and paper and boxes to wrap gifts? I guess with 56,000 sq feet, you could create a room to just hold your boxes of Cheerios...who would buy a house that size, if it were ever to go on the market? Probably Oprah...

I always enjoy getting your feedback and right now i'm amused at the answers to the latest poll about organic beads...I must admit I'm surprised to see that the response 'i wish she made MORE of them' is far ahead of the other three possiblities...I'm glad to know you like the organic beadstyle, NOT cause I'm planning on moving in that direction, but because I really enjoy making them because for me- its always a suprise how the glass will turn out...I find that I like to go back and forth in the beadstyles - from 'classic' to 'organic' just like I go back and forth from 'round' to 'pressed' beads..(right now I'm on a squeeze run, but I'm sure I'll be back to round beads before ya know it)...Keep those responses rolling in, I like to know what you're thinking!!

I think it might actually be raining outside...weird...

World Travelers...

New Poll!

Just as I get home from being gone a week, Brian is taking off for Dallas...dropped him at the airport early this morning, even tho I've been awake since about 3:30am...I can't buy a decent nights sleep anymore...all last week at B&B I got terrible sleep and in some classes I felt guilty cause I was ready to take a nap...but I'm up now, so I might as well get going...I have to hit the post office and get back to work...I made a few teeny weeny beads yesterday, I thought I might try to attach them to the Gypsy Wire earrings...we'll see...

Why or why do dogs bark at UPS and Fed Ex trucks? its garbage day today and our dog is going bananas in the backyard..i've had to bring her in, just to keep her quiet...good grief...even I don't like hearing all that barking going on...

I feel like playing with some silver wire...hmm...I do have a creme brulee torch...should I go for it?

Gonna Make you Sweat...-C+C Music Factory

Remember that song? Pretty groovy...watch the video here...Jump in the middle, jump jump...Why do I bring this up? Brian just sent me the list going around about the Top 10 Sweatiest Cities in the US...uh-huh...The Top 10:

· Phoenix

· Las Vegas

· Tucson, Ariz.

· Dallas

· Corpus Christi, Texas

· San Antonio, Texas

· Austin, Texas

· Shreveport, La.

· Houston

· Waco, Texas

No. 100 on the list, San Francisco, checked in at a breezy 63.2 degrees during the same months.

What's that? Austin is number 7? Look at how well Texas represents! Bring it baby, we sweat like pigs here...its crazy...and to my buddies in Phoenix/Tucson (you know who you are) - sorry to see you're suffering more than we are, cause I didn't think it could be worse than it was here...Notice New Orleans isn't in the top 10...so if you've been there, and thought it was bad, just know that its uglier elsewhere...San Fran is ranked number 100...I do love me some SF weather...sigh...

So, I'm gonna go shoot some pics of some bracelets already in my possession...and will work on more new beads today...I was selling bracelets literally off my wrists, so I will probably make a few more like those, indeed...I had such a fun time, I'm not used to having so many people ask about my beads, it was like being under an interrogation lamp - "tell me about those beads, whose are they, did you make them, do you sell them?"...it fed my fairly small ego and now I can barely get my head thru the door...'fetch me my dinner, bring me some chocolates'...more to come, rock on...

Lets melt something...

I've loaded ya'll up on pics from my classes, so today I'm gonna get back on the torch and melt something...the kiln is even ramping up as we speak, so there's no turning back now!
I'm glad ya'll are enjoying the pics and are leaving comments and emails..its good to hear from ya'll...and it sounds like we are ALL taking the same classes this year, so we should be able to compare notes and finished projects...if you have any questions, feel free to ask me - not that i'm an expert mind you, but I can clue you into what supplies you might or might not need to take with you...other than that, its all up to you to make the most awesome pieces ever!

The pile of loot is still on the table, Clementine hasn't put any of it away yet...she's outside chasing birds...I guess it's up to me to get the catalogs and tools returned to their homes...I did find some fine silver and made a few more links for my bracelet, but until my torch arrives, I'm in a holding pattern...

I washed two of my knitted clutches last night and one came out pretty nice, but the other one is so teeny, it looks like a doll's purse...I think you can fit a cell phone in it and that's about it...hmmm...what do I do with something like this? I'm thinking it becomes yard art..hang it from a tree, let a bird make a home in it...

Someone asked me about what kind of tumbler I use from Harbor Freight - here's a pic...

Today is the first day of Summer...and its the one year anniversary of us adopting our dog...she's such a good kid...we're glad she's here...

What am I gonna show you today?

I'm posting the PROJECT pics first, and doing write ups about each class...You're welcome to visit while I'm still adding the text to the page, tho...go HERE

Ok, so here's a full body shot of the loot pile I brought with me...click to see a bigger image...no, its not a ton of stuff, but so I'll go get some pics shot now...Clem is helping, of course...

I kinda took a break yesterday, my appt went 2 hours longer than expected and then when I started to unpack all my hooha, it kinda looked a bit overwhelming to try and sort thru at once...

so today I'm starting fresh...I also am really anxious to get back on the torch, so I want to do this in phases...a little pic posting, a little torching and bead offering...that seems like a good balance, cause if I try to put all this stuff up at once, its gonna be a lot..not that I have a lot of stuff I bought, really, but its gonna take awhile...

I tumbled some of my silver yesterday and want to tumble more today..
there were lots of references to using tumblers to clean your silver, more than I heard last year..I think more folks are learning the brilliance of using one...I have a little Harbour Freight $25 one and it is fantastic...with some mixed stainless shot from Rio, and a little degreaser, it takes care of anything...I've tumbled Swarovski crystals in it, yesterday I had pearls and semi-precious stones and they come thru like a champ...I'm curious what might happen to my resin beads in there, they might shine up, but I bought enough that I can sacrifice one to the god of tumbling testing to see what happens...

I need to go see if I know how to use this new microwave we have...our old one died while I was gone (it was 13 and the handle kept falling off, but we kept using it as long as it would cook, but Brian said it stopped heating properly)...this new one looks like its from outer space...I love it...I just hope I can punch the right buttons...back in a bit...

Howdy Ho Bead Freakazoids!!!

I have returned...Brian stayed up till Midnight when my flight landed...at least I fared better than my buddy Mick, whose luggage didn't make her connection and is stuck in Dallas somewhere...But all my junk is outta the trunk and I'm doing laundry as we speak...I'm a bit bleary eyed, I only got one good night's sleep in 5 nights, but hey, lets not let a little lack of sleep keep things from moving along...

I think I'll put together a new page for a complete wrap up of my trip, like I did last year, so that I don't clog the blog...so I'll start working on that...I have an appt at noon today, but will be back to shoot pics, and reveal stories as I remember them...of course!

I can tell ya'll a few things right now, tho...I stayed true to my intent and spent less than half of what I spent last year...I wasn't in the show floor very much, and I missed some booths cause there were some rows I just never made it to...gah...last year, being my first year there, I went a little nutso...this year, I was much more relaxed...I 'shopped with my eyes' and thought long and hard about if I REALLY needed something...I only bought 3 lampwork beads...3! I did most of my spending on the classrooms instead...but what was cool was about half of my classes had nothing to buy, and in one class, i did a swap with the instructor, so it was like buying stuff on Wheel of Fortune back in the day..."Yeah, I'd like the coat rack for $100...and the microwave for $300...and I guess the ceramic dog"...heh...

This year's show seemed a bit different for me...perhaps cause it was my second year, perhaps cause I know more people 'behind the scenes' and I hear more scuttlebutt now, perhaps cause I was in a more relaxed state of mind, I dunno what it was...I can say that it was a very profitable show for me...I wore bracelets (photos to come) and sold quite a few bracelets from what I made during my BlueMoon studio week (speaking of, my a/c is up and running, so I'm back in business and wanna get beads made ASAP..woo!)...I actually came away from the trip in the black...with a fistful of $20's in my purse...it was awesome!

Alrighty then, I need to get some tools put away, some class kits to gather up (I don't think I finished anything I started, so you get to see the 'guts' of the projects) and some really sweet goodies to photograph...I'll be back later today w/more info to give ya'll...rock on!

1313 Mockingbird Lane

We all know that The Munsters lived at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. But where did The Addams Family live?

Yea - Donna comes home tonight. Late flight though. Ugh! Did I agree to pick her up? Why would a early bird agree to that? Cuz I'm a good DH, I told.

I picked up a small gift for her ... Official ABC Sports Commerative DVD of the 2006 National Championship Rose Bowl appearance by the Texas Longhorns. Only 2-1/2 more months before the first game of the new season! Wooohoo! Texas lives for it's football.

Donna will be back with ya'll tomorrow. Cheerio!

International Pop Culture

Brian Here!

Those crazy Japanese! It's amazing how much Japanese Pop Culture can travel the Pacific and influence Americans. Nintendo! Tamagatchi! Anime!

But how often does American Pop Culture influence the Japanese? Originally introduced to Donna and I by The Mank Blog on NBC's Dateline show ... I give you ...

The Japanese Backstreet Boyz

And for true nerdiness ... can you tell what videogame the kid in the background is playing? ;)

Here we go...

Everything is shipped and on its way...I am almost shipped and on my way as well...at least its not a 6:00am flight...I got pretty much no sleep last night, why does that always happen? so now I'm a walking zombie...but maybe with some breakfast I'll wake up...I'm loaded with yarn to knit on the way there and back...I know my room number and who I'll be staying with (there are 7 of us in two rooms, a party if I ever heard one)...rumour has it we snagged the last two fridges from the hotel and I got lots of calls yesterday from the chicks who were stocking up at the grocery store...peanut butter, grape juice...we need to take are eats with us, cause we are going non-stop with thte classes (I go from 8am-11pm tomorrow..fun...)

Brian will be posting updated pics and silly links to keep ya'll occupied, and to keep the blog column from becoming a ghost column...who knows what he'll find to entertain you...I won't have my computer, so I won't be updating, but when I get back, there'll be a show and tell like last year (hopefully without as much loot as last year, but we shall see)...I plan to make more 'strategic' purchases this year...

And i'm being whisked outta here now, so I'll leave you with Morticia to keep you company and I'll be back next week...adieu...

Last minute whirlwind...

Yeah, its d-day...'down to it' day...'done' day...'don't forget to pack that' day...I've already got most of my clothes (very few actually) packed, and I'm working on gathering my tools...I might have to go get a tissue cutter for my PMC class, but I'm kinda thinkin' 'no'...I'll borrow one, or use another tool or figure out another way...and I won't worry about it...

One little bracelet is waiting for it's new home...and if you buy it today, it'll go out in the mail today...you know you can't resist...hey - I'm not offering them for $1700, right? Its a bargain I tells ya!!

I had a surprise this morning when I woke up..the dog was on the floor of the bedroom...didn't expect that...we have a child gate that we put up at the end of the hallway, so she doesn't travel to the bedrooms and sleep on the beds, or eat the catfood, or terrorize the cats...and she's never wandered down there on her own before...but there she was, laying quietly on the floor, waiting for me to wake up...amazingly she hadn't eaten the cat food and the two cats in the room didn't seem fazed at all...but still, she has run of the entire rest of the house and backyard, I'd prefer she not visit the bedrooms too often...

back later, must go have breakfast and start that gathering of tools...groovy...

Bracelets later today...

Bracelets are posted!

Sorry about that, afternoon turned into evening - our neighbors took down our dying Sycamore and I was outside this afternoon shooting pics...but the bracelets are up and ready for ya...hope you like them babies!!!

I have to make a quick zip to Bluemoon and pick up the beads from yesterday, and then build the bracelets, but I will def have some to offer later this afternoon...if you like autumn colors and are in the mood for a finished piece that you don't have to do anything to, other than slide on your wrist, then you should be happy...

Today is 'prep' day...laundry, packing, gathering tools, etc..tomorrow is 'last minute' day...getting traveling cash, making sure I have the right knitting needles and enough yarn for the flights to and fro, etc. etc...B&B has started today, maybe next year I'll go for the entire week...6 days is gonna be long enough, I think...

We watched Batman Begins last night and really enjoyed it... I heard nothing but good things about it when it came out, but I wasn't in the mood to see Katie Holmes screw it up, and her character could have been played by 100 other actresses in HOllywood and come out just the same..but the movie was tight, well acted and directed, kept pace and was enjoyable w/out being over the top...I have to say I'd recommend it...

June 10, 2006

i'm gettin excited...are you...?

There are 7 of us rooming (in two rooms) at B&B, and last night we met up at a local restaurant to meet each other (some folks are new to the show this year), and just make sure we know what's going on..turns out I'll be the last to arrive, so the rooms will be setup w/ fridges, microwaves and groceries by the time I get there...awesome! And ironically, a bunch of us will be in various classes together, so there's no escape from one another...I guess that means I have to behave myself in class cause I'll have witnesses...oh well...

I haven't been to the shop today, but I'm on my way...we've been cutting limbs and doing yard work this morning...watering roses which are having issues with thrips...boo...But the good news is that I hope to have beads to post tomorrow, probably a bracelet or two, depending on what comes out of the kiln today...I'll keep ya posted...

Brian and dog are wrestling on the sofa and the dog just put a big sneeze right in Brian's face...hilarious...he's been sneezed on by his cat and now the dog today...now that is funny...

Are you ready for summer? Going on vacation? Summer is here...its been 101 the past 3 days in Austin, crazy-hot...good thing I work indoors...I'm ready for winter...sigh...

Those wacky wheels...

I started making beads yesterday and the first 5 I made I hated...so I changed direction slightly and now that I've pulled the loot from the kiln, i really LIKE how they all came out...much better...sometimes when the wheels fall off, ya just gotta put them back on and keep riding...Am I using bike analogies because I have my LiveStrong shirt and bracelet on this morning? The Tour starts in a few short weeks, and although LA isn't riding, I'm still gonna be up early every morning to watch the rides...you can't watch the thing for 7 years and not get to know the playas and the game...its gonna be interesting...Ivan Basso just won the Giro d'Italia a few days ago, so will he be exhausted or pumped and ready to ride 3 weeks in France? He's at the prime of his physical strength, I hope he can handle the stress this soon from the last race...it takes weeks/months to recover from these long races...so it'll be interesting...

I don't have anything new to show today, the beads that I took home and cleaned/strung are going with me to B&B (yes Gail, I'm lookin' at you!)...and the stuff I made yesterday is here at the shop waiting to be removed from the mandrels, cleaned and strung...I'm not sure I'll have anything to post before I leave next week, but ya never know...I wouldn't be surprised if something else gets posted between now and then...I'll be shipping all the bracelets tonight, i tried to do it this morning, but my power cable to the computer was here at the shop and my battery was running low...so tonight they'll get labeled and mailed...

Is it June really? I'm just in a blur right now, I'm back in 'real job mode' where I get up, get a shower, go to BlueMoon, work all day, then go home and deal w/ the house...days go fast like this...I miss the house and doing chores there when I can instead of cramming it all into the evening or mornings...but, I will say, its been FUN coming here and a good creative boost for me, so I'm not complaining...its just been a different course, probably something I needed to shake up my monotony I suppose...EAch day Jim and Rose show me the new beads Jim has made, and I show them what I made...its fun to have people to share energy with...I might have to come down here and hang out more often...just to mix things up and keep them interesting...

June 08, 2006

I told ya I was working...

I have 2 new bracelets for ya...pretty groovy ones if I do say so...everyone here at the shop came by to see them and went 'ooo' and 'ahh', so I guess that means they are ok...each of them is 7-1/4" and in colors that you haven't seen from me in the past...wha?? yeah...sweet...fun...I zipped home with them last night and strung them up, then didn't want to take them off my wrist, but I did before too many cooties jumped on them...

Oh yeah, something I forgot to mention - I can receive mail and do all sorts of internet stuff, but I don't have my email configured to SEND email...so if you don't hear from me right away, I'll answer you when I get back on my wireless at home...so I'm hearin' ya!!

And thus, the kiln is fired up, I've got twisties I brought from home, new stringers pulled and new colors to use today...hopefully that'll mean new beads for ya'll tomorrow...on that note, lets rock!!

Kick this into gear..

I'm really enjoying coming to BlueMoon and working...I'm on a decent schedule, not waking up at all hours of the night, and I'm getting work done...nice beads from yesterday...I brought more glass with me today, and who knows what will come out...but I have my lentil and squeeze press with me, and ya never know what might happen...

I'm glad to see ya'll like the new freebies, the vote-emails are rolling in fast and furiously..thanks kiddos!

B&B is coming round the corner very fast...I have started pulling together the tools that I need, and thinking of the clothing I'm taking, cause I'm taking WAY LESS than I did last year...plus, I plan to buy way less than I did last year...I still have unused kits floating around the house...this year, its gonna be lean and mean...but I do hope to bring some beads with me...so on that note, lemme get to work and I'll be back later babies...

June 06, 2006

I've got something to show...!

Some of ya'll weren't sure where the bracelet was posted (Ready for pickin page), so I just moved it to the home page...to stare at you forever and ever and ever...

Oh yeah - the new June freebies are up...check it out...

I'm gonna be working at BlueMoon this week, so that'll make life easier for me, that's for sure! My computer came online easily, (wireless rox), and I've got my mandrels drying, the kiln ramping up and the rods ready to go...

I've been plugging away early in the morning and late at night..its a strange schedule I've been keeping, but I'm still without a/c and I don't want to burn out my generators...However, Brian located an a/c dude who knows what he's doing this time and I think we'll have some resolution to this very soon...The other a/c company has just left me high and dry - no followup, no phone calls, so I'm going to register all kinds of complaints with the organizations that will make them sad...just like they've made me sad...but now they've made me mad and I'm gonna come out swinging...

Back on the job...

I'm back...class was good, its always nice to have a repeat student who already knows the drill- cats and dogs will insist you pet them and make you sneeze...ordering pizza for lunch and its a must to shop at BlueMoon and pick up tools and glass cause its so nice to SEE what you're buying...that new BlueMoon shop is SO nice, I just love it...!

I'm up early to get a jump on the heat of the day...time to get to work...I have lots to do...I keep forgetting I'll be gone a while at B&B...and its right around the corner!!

Anything exciting happen while I was gone? When I don't check in and catch up on emails, I feel out of the loop...Oh, the counter just moved over the 320,000 visits as of this morning...very groovy!!!!

The Whirlwind is winding up...

The next couple of weeks will be hectic for me...I'll be around, but not on a regular basis...I do have the start of some groovy beads in the kiln, tho, so I'll keep working on those and post them when I get the chance...so if you email and don't hear from me, I'll get to them as soon as I get back in the studio...

The dog has ripped up some of our nice garden, so we've had to put the fence back up to keep her out..she likes the newly-dug areas cause its easier for her to rip up, of course...why tackle the hard crunchy clay-soil when the soft soil is so much easier..she's not stupid...I guess we are for letting her dig out there...

The ROT Rally is in town, tons and tons of motorcycles, and believe it nor not, even tho our house is not on a main thoroughfare, they still manage to drive down our street, motors blaring...the dog gets stressed over the noise and digs...i don't mind the bikers in town, its not like Hell's Angels has descended on us or anything, they are all pretty nice folks, but it is somewhat noisy in our little neighborhood when they come rolling thru...boo...

anyway, I gotta book...back later, eh...

Goofy, Dopey, Sleepy...

How well do you know your disaster movies? Take this quiz..I scored a 9 out of 10...I have too much useless info in my brain, i tells ya...If you don't like Disaster MOvies, take the George Clooney quiz...I got a 10 out of 10 and I didn't know some of those very obscure answers either...

Go get a FREE Krispy Kreme donut today...(our location is too far away for me to drive for a free donut, now a free gold brick, I'd drive for one of those!)

Have you ever had your sleep pattern disrupted and it makes your day(s) difficult? The past few days I've been in a new pattern for me - go to bed at a normal hour, wake up around 2:30am and stay awake till about 5:00, then fall back to sleep and feel groggy and sleepy the rest of the day...Its terrible and I hate it...I much prefer to sleep thru the night and get up at a reasonable hour (6:30 or so) and get the day started...While I'll never be a morning person, I hate to get up late cause I feel that I've wasted the day...I do hope this pattern breaks soon...

I don't know why this happened, but every day this week I've thought it was Friday when I woke up...It made for a bit of a strange week for me - at first I was excited, and then I'd think 'but its only Tuesday'...i'm actually working all weekend, teaching a class that has been scheduled for months and months, so its not like I have a big weekend planned or anything...I dunno why I thought it was Friday or even why i wanted it to be Friday, but today is finally Friday and now I'm scurrying to get stuff ready for class...

And on that note, I have work to do and things to attend to...it rained all day so I couldn't shoot pics yesterday, but today its sunny, so I'll get the freebies posted...and the other beads shipped...and more beads made...I hope your Friday and weekend are action packed and fun as can be...!

Hello Creatures...

The winner has been drawn for the freebie...and I have an idea what i'm gonna do for this month...yeehaw...

Thanks for all the votes for this month...I stayed up around the top 5 and 6 on both boards and that's very groovy...I'll be drawing a name and posting a new set of beads, as soon as I locate some...I'm gonna have some fun looking for something appropriate...

I started knitting the Kitty bed last night and have never used double pointed needles before...not my favorite experience, but I'm getting it going...its actually moving fairly quickly, but i'll be glad to move onto the circular needles pretty soon...heh..

La la la...what's going on in your world? Is it really June? This year is flying by way too fast...and that makes me sound older than I am..."In my day, we didn't have things to do, we stared at the sun and we LIKED it"...

My cats would never tolerate this...at all...ever...but these faces do crack me up...
