ZZZZzzzz..

11:47 The bed is built and Bagheera helped me put the sheets on (by hiding under the fitted sheet and not wanting to come out)..he also chased down any mysterious hidden mice that might have been under the wrinkles of the sheets...he's a good kid...

Here's another fun music quiz...not too difficult, if I can get 100 on it...

10:25 The delivery dudes are here and I had to physically remove Bagheera from the room...twice...cause he wanted to supervise the assembly...he's been relegated to Brian's office while the assembling takes place, but he can inspect it all afterward...i'm sure he's not happy right now cause I can hear him complaining in the office...reaowr, meowr...he's not afraid of man nor beast...

I've been up forever, but not really awake per se...but the bed is stripped and ready to be hauled away...Brian put the queen frame in the driveway over the weekend and our very nice garbage collector man asked on Wednesday if he could have it...so that's gone...today, the mattresses are hauled away and the new marshmallow will be setup...I'm ready to crawl in and roll around...

Have you ever seen this site? They take regular photos and photoshop celeb faces onto the pics...funny stuff..(nothing nasty, I'd warn ya if it was)...

I feel like digging in my beadbox and seeing what comes out...maybe nothing, maybe something...guess i'll fire up the kiln and wait for the delivery dudes who are gonna be here sometime before noon...

back in a few...

Labor Day Weekend...

If you're a fan of The Office (US), then you need to see what Michael and his crew did this summer...

Already...wow...Football starts this weekend, finally...and before you know it - it'll be Christmas...we'll be taking our garden down in a couple of weeks, I've already removed most of the zinnia and cut back some of the plants that were looking leggy and painful..what's so cool about planting natives is they tend to come back when cut back...and the milkweed has been popping up in both the front and backyard...I do love volunteers, as long as I see them before I mow them over...speaking of which, I do believe I have some weedeating to take care of tomorrow...

I'm busily shipping all the new beads from Etsy so you'll get them shortly...I like coming upstairs to ship - Amelie likes to squeeze her big bod into small spaces next to the computer..I have to remove anything I don't want 'lost' while she plants herself...we've tried diet food, feeding schedules, and it just doesn't matter...her food obsession goes deep...she wants me to fill her food bowl, even when its already full...i have to make a game of it - dump the full bowl back into the bin, the re-scoop new food..she gets estatic, chirping and rubbing all over my ankles...that's what happens when you're a starving kitty on the streets...food means love...

Our sleep number bed arrives tomorrow morning...we can't wait...all we have to do now is find a frame we like and the room will look cool...I still need to paint, but that'll come...we have new chocolate and caramel sheets (500 count on sale at Stein Mart!) and its gonna be a nice sleepy weekend, me thinks...but I will make beads, I promise...I made a few yesterday and strung them up...but I think they need to fly off and find new homes...

Good lord, I am fickle...

Hey Look - Flame Shoes!

Hmmm...why am I here and not on the road? Because........Now that school is back in session, Alamo Drafthouse isn't showing Noon movies...the earilest are at 3:30, so by the time I'd be done, I'd have to fight rush hour traffic to come home...no thank you...AND, the movie I thought I'd go see as a 'throw away' (low expectations, blah blah) just got an "F" from Entertainment Weekly...so it must be REALLY bad...I don't wanna waste money on that...SOOOOOOOO...I've decided to change plans...Stay home and work, prob go out for lunch just to keep the Vampyr in good working order (she needs a bath) and maybe post stuff TODAY instead...I have some beads, not lots, but some...and I feel like making more...

And there you have it...Sometimes, ya gotta say 'What the Eff...make your move"...and so I'm gonna work...why not...

Crushing my Poptarts..

We've started watching Heroes from our Netflix account and its pretty cool...I know a little about the show (I even know who Sylar is, and I know some of the Heroes are good, others are bad...)..I shoulda kept my Entertainment Weekly issue that covered the whole show and actors...oh well, maybe they'll do another one for Season 2...

Amelie is standing on my poptarts, crushing them...aaauuugghhhh!

Beadmaking yesterday was a 50/50 thing...some of the sets are great, and one frustrates me...I made it late in the day and they STILL lost their reduction...only a few of them did...so I'll see if I can get them remade today...but i've got more sets to work on, and a goal and I need to get hopping...

guess I'll go salvage my poptart crumbles and see if I can sprinkle them on a bowl of cereal...heh..

The spider makes her move...

Remember the giant orb weaver we spotted yesterday? She's relocated to a better spot - at the end of our porch...she's fantastic! and her web must be 2 ft across, its the biggest I've seen ever...she has this big zipper up the middle and is sitting in the center, chewing on something white that looked like it might be webbing...I looked to see if yesterday's spider was still up high and she isn't, which tells me I believe she's found a more 'stable' place to hang out...we were really making her web shake yesterday when cutting the grapevine, and while she never panicked, she probably didn't appreciate it...Still, after watching Lord of the Rings last night, I'm just glad I'm not battling THAT spider outside...

The Farmer in the Dell...

Man, its only 12:30 and we've been working for HOURS...We both got up before sunrise and started working in the yard...remember, the weeds grew 8ft tall from the 50 days of rain we had...so, I took down most of them with the weedwhacker and let them dry out, but they needed to be raked, and all the 'real' plants needed to be trimmed and made pretty again...we spent 3-4 hours in the heat (and shade, thankfully) and we just went to town...Brian took the part of the garden that was closer to the large outdoor fan, so he could work in relative comfort, and I grabbed large loppers and started taking down lemons and mystic spires and firecracker plants and dead heading roses...

the wild grapevine that has grown over our cable and tv wires has been cut and left to wilt in the heat...its looking most awful, so soon we'll be able to remove it entirely...I spotted a gigantic orb weaver spider way up high on the grapevine and she's just gorgeous...and huge..glad she's way up high!

So, after we both got showers and cleaned up we took off to a local diner for breakfast...and now its only 12:30 and we have the rest of the day to do stuff...I think I'm gonna stay in, tho, I'm sucking down ice water like a sponge and I've had enough heat for the day...I think I need to do some laundry, actually...exciting, I know, but it needs to be done...

I am gonna get back to work tomorrow, you prob won't hear from me while I work in the yard, then work at the torch...so figure you'll see new stuff this week cause I'm in the mood to burn things...I'm listening to the audio book "The Lovely Bones" and its really interesting...Peter Jackson is making it into a movie...

Limbo limbo, do the limbo...

Its one of those Saturdays - we have stuff to do, but nothing that HAS TO BE DONE...so we are kinda meandering around...I was masterfully awoken by a small paw to the nose (claws and everything) so I've been up for awhile...it feels much later in the day than 11:30...not that I'm complaining, I like to feel like I have a full day to spend...And we've already made a post office run, so we've actually DONE something...and I've stripped the bed and am washing the bed clothes, so its not like I'm not DOING anything...plus, i'm upstairs getting ready to start shipping all the stuff that's sold, so I'm WORKING...but still, it feels like I'm floating thru the day...

I'd rather ship today so I can work on MOnday and get some new beads posted...my goal is to keep stuff on Etsy at all times - who wants to visit an empty store? not me...

The birthday was good, Brian had to work late, so we opened presents late, but they were mostly surprises and that's always fun...he gave me a list of links to stuff he wanted last month, so all I had to do was click and buy...the stuff was all shipped to the house and it was very easy for me...all I had to do was wrap it...but they've been sitting in my closet for so long that we'd both forgotten what he asked for...and I did pick up a few surprises for him...he did well this year...

Ok then, I'm gonna remain in limbo until something forces me to address it...maybe we'll drift into Austin and wander aimlessly for awhile...I'm kinda jonesing for a goat cheese salad...who knows?

Brian's Birthday

Today is Brian's birthday...he's old, but he'll never be as old as me...I've got all his presents, I just need to wrap them...but first I have to go get a haircut...time to take the Vampyr for her weekly spin...

Thanks to everyone who's been making me a 'favorite' on their Etsy accounts...I always visit your site as well to see what you have to sell, who your faves are and where you're from...I'm tickled to see how many of ya'll who are my 'regular' customers are also Etsy customers - and what fantastic sets of favorites you've got...lots of really neat jewelry and beadmakers are out there...I could spend (and have) hours on Etsy, but I've had to reign myself in...

I finished the one set of 'weirdo' beads from the other day...the set that I made 3 of and wasn't sure I liked until I took them outta the kiln...I'm heading that way to see how the rest of them came out...I realized much too late last night that I forgot to reduce these while in the flame...not that it makes much difference, because the glass doesn't turn metallic in the flame, but it does turn kinda a strange dirty brownish (coppery) in the kiln that I like...I'm not sure if the reduction in the flame helps that process or not...but I will find out momentarily...

Its good for me...

Love this little felt tooth with a cavity...

Silly TV Sex Ed discussions Quiz...I got 100%...its not that difficult a quiz, if you just read the dialog and who's speaking...

Its good for me to get off the computer for a few days and just get to work...I'm always suprised that it takes me longer to make beads than I realize...part of it is thinking about what I want to do, but part of it is just going slowly and keeping a steady hand...not rushing the work...not getting sloppy...I made a few mistakes - those usually sit out of the kiln and break into many pieces...why bother annealing a bead that isn't shaped properly? I also made some 'test' beads - a few here and there - of styles I wasn't sold on..but now that I've seen them on this side of the kiln (annealed and complete) I rather like them and think I'll make more of them...

Hey look! Val Cox is selling her pinhole camera pics on Etsy...she takes really gorgeous photos w/ that little camera, I will definitely be keeping an eye on this store....

Yes, I posted these beads on Etsy...so that I don't have to babysit the website all day worrying like I used to...its all about the freedom to be able to get up and make more beads today...which is what I have planned...I've had some requests for Icicle beads, so if you are an owner of the Icicle earrings and are in need of some wardrobe updates, I shant be long now...I've been making them here and there, actually...but I need to make even more...

And so, I thought I'd at least peek in, letcha see what I've been doing - lentils! I haven't made lentils, a lot of lentils, in a long time...mostly its been squeeze stuff...lentils are more versatile, true...and they feel pretty good actually...

Howdy Creatures...

I'm jumping in to say 'hi' and letcha know things are going well...beads are being made...here's a secret tip - they are of the lenticular shape...more to be made...

I weed eated the garden (finally!) and my arms are sore sore sore...but the garden looks better...still lots of work to do...I left all the weeds in the yard to let them evaporate and I'll rake them when they are lighter to move...the grasshoppers were flying, and I'm glad to see them go...they don't eat the native plants, but they hang out on the wild petunias and just bug the crap out of us...

I guess that's all there is to it...gettin' back to work...

Hunkerin' down...again...

Yes kids, its that time again...time for me to take my leave of this site for a few days and get busy making beads...I spend too much time surfing the net (for cool stuff, granted) and I MUST make myself turn the thing off and get to work...I've thought about leaving my laptop in the Miata's trunk, but with my luck it'd blow something in the heat and would never work again...so it gets a reprieve and gets to stay in the cool a/c...I'm the only one who has to battle the heat...

So, don't look for me for a couple of days at least...time to fall thru the looking glass and see what comes out the other side...

See ya'll in a few days...

Fractally Fractacular

So, I accidentally found these on the web and thought they were really pretty...fractal pictures as I've never seen them before...(click any of the pics to see more)...Kinda reminds me of beads in a way, more like a weird ride in the Willy Wonka factory...

You might know that I really enjoy the VH1 Series of Pop Culture that happens every July...well, I stumbled upon a new show on GSN that's called Grand Slam and it seems to be run by the same folks...Its another trivia game show, only the questions are SUPER hard..there's even a MATH round that makes you solve algebra problems like 3x+4y=? and what is 6/4ths of 338? The contestants are all successful game show winners from Jeopardy, Millionaire, 21, and others...There doesn't seem to be a good reason for Dennis Miller and his co-host to be there, Pat Kiernan from the Pop Culture quiz is who reads the questions (as he does in the other show) and he could EASILY host this show as well...regardless, if you aren't busy on Saturday nights, and want to be shown just how stupid you are, be sure and tune in...All I can say is, I'm glad i'm not having to solve for X...

I'm McLovin

I had no idea there were butterfly smugglers...the pic of these Queen Alexandra from Papua New Guinea is amazing...butterflies that are a foot in width?

4:22pm - Just got back from seeing the movie...and all I can say is "NOOOOOoooooooo!!!!"....AGAIN they got me!! All the funny parts of this movie are in the trailer...argh!! We laughed a few times, but it's no 40-Yr Old Virgin...its not as funny as Borat...its not as funny as Animal House or many other movies...there was such potential, but they never followed through...there were some funny times, but overall, its not worth seeing again...wait for Netflix...and we were really looking forward to this one too...grrrrr...

From when we first saw the trailer for this movie months ago, we've been looking forward to seeing it...and today is the day...I see/hear its getting good reviews, so that's encouraging...I've been muting the commercials so as not to see too much beforehand...some of the best Bourne Ultimatum bits were in the trailers on tv...

This weekend is a 'tax-free' shopping spree in Austin and it'll be a madhouse...I do have to make a quick pitstop at the mall to pick up something, so that should be interesting...I hope I get out alive...Not everything is tax-free, its a weird list of stuff that is and isn't...its mostly to help families buy stuff for back-to-school, but then they don't put normal stuff on the list like sports equipment, but they put unnecessary stuff on it like perfume...I dunno, government never makes sense to me...

Bunnies are cute

If you like TV, here's a convenient grid of when all the old and new shoes will be debuting this Fall...I can already see entire nights where I wont be watching anything...I'll find something else to do...

Ok, Ok, I give...THIS is the cutest thing I've seen in months...WANT!!

Have you ever seen the Miffy cartoon on Noggin? I don't have kids, but that has never stopped me from enjoying simple lined cartoons, and I think Miffy is a cutie...I like the claymation animation they use for her show as well...you just wanna pick up the little characters and squeeze them, they are so cute...I appreciate primary colors and big buttons and beach balls...

We are fine here, some nice rain to wash the dust off and a bit of wind to dry things out...I could hear branches rubbing against the roof...rumour has it that Hurricane Dean might be trouble, but I've lived here long enough to know not to worry until you can see the fish flying by the house...

Drenched...

And on a topical subject, here's a Deathclock so you can see when you'll die...this says I'll be 75...that seems old enough to me...I think after 75, I'll feel bad enough not to want to be around...heh...Oh this is funny - if you change your 'outlook' to 'optimistic', you'll live longer...now, it says I'll live to be 94 cause I'm optimistic...wow...

The tropical storm known as 'Erin' has landed and we are getting hammered...mostly just rain, no wind or damage...I can live with that...I'm not looking for my roof to be blown off...The dog is dancing, she wants to go outside SO badly, but when I open the door, the rain makes her stop...funny that...

Its black as night outside, you'd never guess it was 8:00am...it looks like 3:00am...

I'm hidin' out indoors of course...lots to do today...

Its Wednesday, and that's a good thing...

I took one of those suggested jacuzzi baths for my back last night...really hot water, blasted the nozzle on my lower back - it was fantastic...I felt like a rubber noodle afterward...my back hasn't felt that good in days...after sleeping, tho, its back (heh) to its typical knottyness...guess I need some more blasts...love that bathtub, its awesome...

In case you were wondering, I WILL have more beads 'made to order' like the Cowboys and Clementines...I've already got the color scheme picked out, I just need to take care of some things before I get underway...I've got some beads, but I'm going to do something different with them, and you won't miss out, so no worries...

I should be going into Austin since its Wednesday, but its dark and mysterious outside and we are due to have a tropical system come right up our way tomorrow and dump some rain...which is ok, since we're pretty dried out...garden looks a wreck, I was searching for a pic to post, and going thru my garden pics from April-May-June and the garden was SO pretty back then...its dusty and dry and overgrown and weed filled...at least the plants are still alive, but its just too hot and humid to spend any decent time outside w/out passing out...its typical for us in August to just escape indoors, like ya'll do in Dec-Jan-Feb up north...who wants to go outside and shovel when its 20 below? That's how we feel about July-August-Sept here...miserable...I'm grateful for the rain that's about to decend on us...

Back it up, Charlie..

Thanks for all the busted back remedies...I can tell my back is getting better...its not perfect yet, I'm still taking Advil, but I have more movement than previously...remember those Doan's pills ads on tv where the dude would raise his arm, and you could SEE how much pain he was in by the red light his armpit gave off? Bad back...but then, with Doan's pills aiding him, the color turned blue and he could raise his arm up over his head...can you even buy Doan's pills anymore?

I worked yesterday and am happy with what I have...more work to be done today...

I was listening to the radio this morning and the host of that new show called Flipped Out was on...he flips houses for profit and the one thing he said was to paint your home in neutral colors like yellow, blue and green...which is PERFECT cause those are exactly the colors I have picked to paint our interior...the front room will be a slate blue, the bedrooms a deep bronzy-yellow and the hallway is either an old-time yellow green, or dusty green, I can't decide...Brian wants maroon for his office (Texas A&M colors of course)...so at least I'm on the right path...eventually we'll work on the bathroom and kitchen cause I want it to look more old and country style...but there's no rush on that..the paint will not take long and should improve the neutrality of the house...the stuff we've hung makes it feel somewhat like our own place, but I think changing the color will make a much bigger difference...

Has anyone ever used a Garden Weasel in the yard? does it work? do you recommend it? is it another gimmicky tool from Ronco? I'm desperate not to spend hours on my hands and knees weeding in 104 temps...anyone able to cast magic?

Ow! Mah Back!

Yeah, are ya wonderin' why I've been so quiet the past few days? I've tied up my back muscles...I did this about 5 years ago, and since then, everything has been fine...granted, I had to go to the emergency room and get muscle relaxers last time, something I haven't done this time - yet...It seems to be my mind doing this to me...although I did walk the dog while Brian was out of town and I was walking too fast...I could feel my back hurting for a few days, then Friday morning, while taking a shower, I could feel the exact moment my back seized up...Its better, but not great...I've started taking Advil, which helps with the pain, but after it wears off, all the badness returns...I end up waking up at 3:30am and staying awake the rest of the night...i guess tonight I'll keep the Advil next to the bed...

anyway, I'm able to sit for awhile, and I've got the kiln firing up, so I'm gonna give it a whirl...who knows, I might end up with massively wonky beads...ha!

So, since we were out and about all day Saturday (and yes, it was painful to get in and out of the car), we stayed home and I watched Tiger Woods win his 13th championship...pretty groovy...I don't enjoy golf unless Tiger is winning...typical, huh...

Stay inside, stay outta the heat, enjoy your summer day and know that school is coming back soon...Target is loaded w/ supplies and you can noticably see more traffic in Austin with the college kids coming back this month...50,000 students (plus teachers, support staff, etc) invade Austin and the traffic goes nuts...they used to nearly run over us when we lived near campus...it was crazy!

Run around town..

With Brian back in town, we spent the day running around...found some great frames for some new artwork I've been buying on Etsy...they look great...I'm tickled...

i've been having a good time going thru the pages on I Can Has Cheezburger?...I had to post Monorail Cat here for you to enjoy...

That is all...its a good weekend, I think we're staying home tomorrow...

Roll on..

I am so disappointed...the cycling team known as Discovery (owned by Tailwind sports and Lance Armstrong here in Austin) is shutting down...I knew that Discovery was ending their sponsorship in December, and they were currently shopping for a new sponsor, but it never occured to me that they would just disband the entire team...its all done now...Johan says he'll retire, the other guys will have to find new teams to ride for...I had heard they were having trouble finding a sponsor - it takes around $15million a year to cover the expenses, so its not a cheap thing...after so much success its hard to watch them disappear...it'd be like if the Yankees decided not to play baseball anymore...

Brian comes home this afternoon, guess I better clean up from all the parties I had this week...ha...anyone who knows me knows that I don't party, I don't even invite people out to the house...when we tell people where we've moved, they say "way out there?" like we're in South America or something...while we don't mind the drive, I figure no one else wants to deal with it, so I just meet them in town instead...and this way I can keep my fortress of solitude to myself...not such a bad plan, really...

Did you see the woman in Russia who lives in a 2 bedroom apartment- and has 130 cats? They are are all fed, the place is clean, but still...We have a hard enough time w/ 7 cats in our HOUSE and the few outdoor ones we feed...did I mention there's a new one? I saw him/her last night, its hungry and it came up to eat while I spent time talking to it and letting it get used to me...country living does have its downsides - some folks out here aren't very responsible with their animals...maybe we just notice it more than we did in Austin...I think it happens all over - otherwise how would you end up with 130 cats??

Learn somethin new today...

Just got back from the Simpson's movie - what a piece of poo...I think I chuckled maybe 4 times, but no laughs...it wasn't as good as some of my favorite 30 min episodes...In the beginning, the family is watching a movie and Homer stands up and says "I can't believe we are paying for something we can see on tv for free"...he wasn't kidding...

Did you get this email from Lisa Niven Kelly? Have you subscribed and taken any of her classes at Beaducation? I signed up for a class and am waiting on the kit, which is on its way (I pay for all the kits/classes, btw, I am just shilling this site cause I like Lisa and the idea of online learning)...

As you may know, at beaducation.com, we offer optional materials-only kits sold as a compliment to our online classes. These kits are for folks who don't have access to the materials needed to complete the class project. Or, folks have been buying our kits because they love our color options and like having all the materials packaged up for them.

These kits are 15% off for one week only (now through August 16th).

Check them out by going to the Online Classes & Kits category in our Shoppe and click on any project to view the kits. You can buy a kit and a class at the same time. The class timer will not begin until you are ready and you login to begin your class.

Did I go to Austin yesterday? No I did not...I have had a headache on and off the past 2 days..the kind that nothing will take care of...eating, drinking, napping, Advil - nothing would make it go away...so I stayed home, and watched The Prestige and ate Chinese food and just dealt with the headache...but I feel better today...road trip!

A good question - do I have any new beads? Not today...next week, yes...

Zoom Zoom

Time to take my car into town...If I don't make a concerted effort to do this, I'll never leave the house for the next 3 months...I have stuff that's framed and ready to be picked up anyway, so the trip isn't a waste...I wish the dog would sit nicely in the car, I'd take her with me...but she won't 'sit' in the seat, she wants to stand the whole time, which can't be done in a Miata...so she gets to stay in the yard...oh well...and she LOVES going for rides...I take her out in the truck and its hard to get her out sometimes...I see she's in the yard, digging right now...hmmm...

I spent last night and this morning stringing bracelets...sometimes I'm in the mood, other times not...i've strung all the Cowboys and Clementines original beads into 4 bracelets, and I made a few extra lentils so I could create 2 bracelets from those...kinda groovy...

Beadmaking bliss

Matt Damon is being kicked out of his own Bourne franchise...by Jimmy Kimmel...

I kicked Brian to the curb at the airport early this morning...he's on his way to Seattle for the week...I picked up some breakfast tacos and Starbucks on the way home (the tacos are not good, bummer) and am ready to get the day underway...Yesterday was a bomb, the inspiration didn't strike and nothing got made...

Today should be near 100 today...I'm staying inside, next to a kiln that's nearly 1000 degrees...hmm...maybe I'm not thinking this thru properly...

I'm sleepy...need a nap...

This Old House

Its these improvised weapons that makes the Bourne franchise so much fun for me...Sure, Bond is awesomely cool w/ all his fancy toys, we love Bond...but if you're ever in a fight w/ a guy, just pick up a book and beat his face with it...(lots of videos here, if you haven't seen the movies but want to, you might not want to see these till ya do)...

This weekend was indoor-decorating time...We are officially in the house a year as of yesterday, so we spent the weekend hanging up stuff that has been sitting around for the past year...collecting dust...really sad...maybe in the next 5 years we'll have it all up and hung...Years ago we bought those crown moulding shelves from the Pottery Barn Outlet, and they've been laying in the corners since we brought them home...finally, they are up...and they look great! From Target, we snagged one of those 3ft clocks and that's taking up half a wall...lots of my samplers have been framed and are now sitting on the shelves, till I figure out the best places to put them...

We don't have a lot of spare furniture - you know, the little tables and end pieces that make up little vingettes around your homes..with little lamps and pictures and such...so that's what I'm going to hunt for next...and once I get some areas setup, I will know what to hang and where...the thing is, we've lived in pretty small houses, that don't have a lot of room for furniture...so we live like Amish - bare and plain...its not so bad, really...and makes vacuuming pretty easy...I'm still trying to decide what colors to paint the walls, but I have some ideas...that'll be fun, I think...ignorance is bliss, right?

I spied 2 monarchs and 1 queen butterfly yesterday...it was good to see them...and I've found 3 monarch chrysalis in the yard that I didn't even know were there...now that the rain has left, I can venture out and take inventory...its time to get rid of weeds...argh!

I shoulda known...

I liked Bourne Ultimatum, but I think its my least favorite of the three movies...I wanted to LOVE it, but there was too much talking, too much Julia Stiles, too much computer tracking...I like the first two movies where Jason was on his own, getting by on his wits, a ball point pen, a rolled up magazine, and some tiny European cars zooming down flights of stairs...oh well...its not bad, I will recommend it, its got some exciting chase scenes and Matt Damon is SO MUCH better than watching his dorky friend Ben Affleck...I give it a solid "B"...

Its nice to be home...we bought collars for the outdoor kitties, so they won't be picked up by animal control...we picked up some new Halloween decorations (!) and I got the new chainmaille book from Anne Mitchell in the mail...its really nice...

I think that's all for now...

I'm drawing a blank...

If you need some kitten fun, check out this little one...

I've been sitting here wondering what to write about and nothing is jumping out at me, so I guess everything is normal in my world...walk the dog, have some breakfast, check the mail, the day is done...

I'm glad its Friday, tho...just cause Fridays are always happy days...

I bought some straightener at Target, I think I'll just go straighten my hair...why not?

Bourne to run..

Hey, guess what?!?! Its RAINING again...! After a completely sunny and dry (and hot) day yesterday, its dark and stormy...my freshly washed car is getting pummeled...I can't wait till we build a garage or get some means to protect my car...I've used car covers before, but they still let dirt/rain thru..they keep bird doo and tree sap off, tho...as much as I love rain, I'm ready for it to go away...

The reviews are coming in and it sounds like this third installment will be fantabulous like the previous two...I can't wait...tix are bought, plans are made...we'll be there first thing Sat morning...

Sunshine...my car is clean and shiny and gorgeous...all the spiderwebs have been blown out...

We have 3 (Three!) orb weaver spiders building webs just outside our backdoor...they are gorgeous...I left the back light on last night to help bring the bugs to them...we spotted lotsa smallish toads hopping in the yard as well...I'm tickled to see all the critters out here...I plan to take pics of the spiders, but I won't post them w/out a warning cause I know lots of ya'll are skittish about spiders...and the big one is nice and big...she's wonderful...

Austin was fun, but after awhile I had to come home...I found that everywhere I went, I was spending money, even if it was just $2 at Sonic...but I haven't been in Austin on my own in weeks, if not months and I had errands to take care of...even some new glass to pick up at BlueMoon...it was a good day, but I was glad to be home...isn't that funny? I'm really acclimated to the calmness of the country...its not like we are in the middle of nowhere, we are actually just a little off Main street in this town...but even so, its quiet...I can hear the birds and squirrels...I hear trains...I don't hear sirens or horns honking or traffic buzz...its good...

I'm going to process beads and get them shipped...back later...

Yahoo!

I have completed all the orders and taken the beads off the mandrel this morning...however, I'll do all the shipping tomorrow, as I have to head to Austin and do loads of various things in my car...since its sunny w/ no chance of rain, I believe I shall put the top down...however, its supposed to be 105 heat index, so perhaps I shant...we'll see...I'm already running late, so I'm outta here...

rock on...
